Well, married life has officially begun. The first order of business was to find a place to live... task accomplished. We moved into a house in Sedro Woolley. We are renting it from Mandi's parents and are helping them do some home-improvement projects while figuring out where our lives are going to "permanently" settle down. "Permanently" is a loose term for us, but we would like to have somewhat of a plan before we commit to buying or being locked into a lease. So this some-what temporary arrangement is a great option for us right now. It's also a great option for Mandi's parents as they are hoping to sell this house but know that right now is not the best time for them to do so. We've already spent countless hours on improvements that will (we pray) help them when it is the right time to sell.
Besides getting married, going on a honeymoon, and moving, our summer has been filled with a lot of family time. We feel blessed beyond measure that we both married into families that hold such similar values and beliefs. In August we drove to Cannon Beach, Oregon for Mandi's annual family reunion and that weekend was immediately followed by the very first annual Mouw-Kitchener Game Day where we combined both of our families for a day of pickle ball, badminton, Frisbee golf, bocceball, and a whole lot of food. Our summer has also been filled with the great opportunity to serve God in our very own church, we are youth leaders at New Hope's EPIC Youth Ministries. This is a group that started with 6 and has grown to 20 in a matter of months. Some days we wonder if we get more out of it than the kids, they truly are amazing and our heart is broken for them. We can only hope that God will use us to direct their lives to His will.
We are both still employed by Peoples Bank and are thankful for the extremely busy schedule that gives us the fortune of good job security. Something many people lack right now. We praise God for His continued blessing upon our marriage, we are unfathomably blessed and are excited to see what God has in store for us in the upcoming months.
Thank you all for your continued love, prayer, and support.
